The courtyard music

Diar دْيَار was founded by three Syrian musicians who relocated to Canada in early 2017. The band's name refers to the term for the courtyard, or open space ("ard diar," أرض دْيَار), which is an important part of traditional houses in Damascus. For the band, the name evokes their homeland and memories: of childhood, friends, family, and first love; of happiness, sadness, and musical roots.
